We’ve been very busy all summer organising our wonderful new base on Gray’s Inn Rd and welcoming back clients.

Suited & Booted is a complex operation with deliveries coming in every day from individuals, companies and sometimes a fashion house. Everything has to be well organised so that we can give the best possible service to our clients. 

All the donations – the suits, shirts, ties, coats and jackets – are sorted, steamed, measured and then hung on rails in size order so that everything is easily accessible for our stylists. The shoes are ordered by size and by style, lace ups or slip-ons, so we can easily find the perfect shoes – that Cinderella moment we always aim for! Behind the scenes, getting the logistics right is essential, as we have to move our stock in and out of storage to meet our needs.

We have such a wonderful group of volunteers who create the most engaging and welcoming environment that makes S&B so popular. Thanks to them, our new premises are looking rather stunning! Our volunteers – the stylists, wardrobe assistants, logistics, admin and our new wonder cleaner – all contribute to this and we can’t thank them enough. We now even have a daily rotating display of shirts matched with ties – an eye-catching feature in reception, which our clients love to look at and which inspires them to think about their own interview outfits.

Since opening our new premises at the end of March, up to the beginning of August, we have helped 477 clients, and there is never a quiet moment.
