Suited & Booted held a workshop on Interview Preparation for job-seekers in December.
The workshop was hosted by Chris Baldwin and Stephen Branley, who as well as being stylists for Suited & Booted, also have backgrounds in recruiting for commercial and public-sector organisations. Together they have 60 years of interviewing experience. On the day, they shared information on popular questions and what recruiters are looking for in response to these questions.
Places were limited to participants who had already visited Suited & Booted and therefore had interview clothes to wear, which they were invited to wear on the day as we believe that doing so supports the participants in feeling, thinking and acting with confidence and competence at future interviews.
The five participants learned how to identify key capabilities for the roles for which they were applying in order to demonstrate them in interviews and write about them in application forms.
Throughout the two hour session, they discussed key interview questions in depth and also took away information on the more comprehensive list of questions. Our aim is for participants to use the knowledge they gain in our workshops to their advantage by supporting their confidence in convincing recruiters that they are “right for the job” when they feel the job is right for them.
