meet JAMES

James has been a client of Suited & Booted and tells us here what the experience has meant to him.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to Suited & Booted. Receiving not only a suit, but a carrier bag, coat and even perfume was a boost to my confidence and a reminder that there are people who genuinely care and are willing to offer their support.

There is no other way to put this, when I first came in I was simply stunned:
I was under the assumption that I would receive a few ties and shirts and be on my way, but far beyond my expectations, I was met with incredibly friendly, hospitable staff and a skilled tailor who took my measurements and outfitted me with a suit that looked and fitted like it was brand new.

I also spoke a lot with the other beneficiaries, who gave me their stories on how they got here and their own experiences with Suited & Booted. It made me realise just how expansive this charity truly is, and that I was not alone in receiving such support.

Because of this tremendous help, I went on to attend numerous job interviews with confidence and ease, eventually landing a position in the catering industry. On top of that, I have also earned a CSCS green card in construction and will pursue opportunities in that field. Most importantly, my academic prospects are now revived, and I am set to return to education next school year.

I am truly grateful for everything this charity has done, and I hope to pay this kindness forward in the future.”
